XMAS Fashion Countdown Day 3

Don't be a copycat

I myself have drooled over the latest outfits in Cosmo and Glamour, and I'm sure you've tried to copy an outfit that you saw once or twice. With a holiday attire it's super easy to just throw on your little black dress and heels and go because a. you procastinated on the couch all evening and now you are in a rush or b. you're just too tired to deal with it. However, be careful that you are not too trendy. I know that sounds rather contradictive considering we are all trying to be trendy but don't try to copy what your favorite celebrity looks like in that airbrushed photo. Here's a little secret: Celebrities often overdo the trends on the red carpet for a better photo-op. In everyday life, it would not look so hot, similar to the skimpy outfit deal on Day 2.

My tip for wearing something trendy but keeping it your style? Accessories, accessories, accessories! I cannot say it enough. You would be surprised how much a little pair of earrings and a clutch can really vamp up a wardrobe. Accessories are what pull an outfit together and you will probably never see a celebrity without one.

Holiday Party Extras:

  1. A simple pendant on a chain. If it's long then don't go for the long earrings too. Also, if the pendant is big then go simple on the earrings, or the opposite. Remember: Too much of something is not always good.

  2. If you are wearing a little black dress and you don't want to over do then go for the little diamond earrings, black pumps, and a velvet clutch. It's simple and sweet

  3. Want to be more adventurous? Instead of a black clutch, pair it with a wine red or silver clutch.
